Baala – Tale of Kanha is a Bharatantyam dance drama which narrates the childhood story of Krishna in a span of 90 minutes. It was inspired by the despondency created by the Covid-19 pandemic and brings us nostalgic memories of our own childhoods as 43 young students show us how Kanha overcame all the problems that he faced as a mere child. Baala reflects this hope and vitality of Krishna that we all seek.
As sole proprietor and director, Megha Rao currently runs a commercially successful Dhirana Academy of Classical Dance based in Bentonville Arkansas, which trains 100+ students in the USA every year. Rao has been a supporter of various charities and fundraising events in the Northwest Arkansas region through her performances. Rao has also been learning Classical Ballet for the past four years.
