Shannon P. Smith is a Black, photo-based artist whose work spans analog and alternative process photography, woodworking, and experiments with glass and mirrors, such as soldering broken glass. Currently pursuing an MFA in studio art at the University of Arkansas, Shannon considers the ephemeral nature of time while weaving narratives of introspection and nostalgia through her art. Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, she earned her BA in television production at Michigan State University. She also previously worked as a script supervisor on award-winning live television productions in Los Angeles, California, before returning to school.
