Lisa Marie Evans, an award-winning filmmaker, received the Publishing Triangle’s Michele Karlsberg Leadership Award for her documentary In Her Words: 20th Century Lesbian Fiction, which has screened in 16 countries. In 2024, she received a grant from the US Embassy in Rome to screen her film at Sapienza University to advance LGBTQI+ policies. Lisa Marie was a keynote speaker at VIII Gendercom in Viterbo, Italy. Her animation for bassoon premiered at the 2023 IDRS conference in Bangkok, Thailand. She received a 2021 Arkansas Arts Council Fellowship in Cinematic Arts and co-produced Beyond Belief for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and PBS.
