Keely Brice will finish and promote the second draft of her novel, Hard and Breakable, a story of the relationship between two people who meet when their partners die in the same DC metro accident. The novel explores how we cope when systemic carelessness causes a national tragedy.
Keely Brice is a writer in Bentonville. She holds an MFA from the University of Arkansas where she studied fiction and taught writing as a Graduate Student Instructor for four years. Originally from Wisconsin, Brice also studied creative writing as an undergraduate at the University of Wisconsin. Brice’s work challenges the myth of “closure” and instead contends that pain instructs change, both societal and individual. Her forthcoming novel, Hard and Breakable, explores how we grapple when carelessness causes a tragedy, and there are no terrorists to blame. Brice has publications in PIF Magazine, The Summerset Review, Madison Magazine, and others.
