My work at present investigates ideas of labor, memory, and community by drawing from personal and family history. Although my artistic background is in painting, I have taken an interdisciplinary approach working in between several media. Recent explorations in writing, ceramics, installation, and performance have pushed me toward building immersive spaces that activate tensions between comfort and displacement—an undefined space that encapsulates many layers of my lived experiences. I have embarked on project and research-based art making which includes work referencing my Korean heritage, food culture, and the immigrant experience.
