Austin Hughes is a mixed-media animator and illustrator with artwork interested in embracing the nuances of everyday monotony. After spending a year studying animation in Chicago, Austin returned to his roots in Northwest Arkansas with new vigor to romanticize the slower pace that a southern-midwest upbringing has to offer. Not only do his surroundings inform his work, but his murals, animations, and illustrations return to his community as an invitation to appreciate the comedy and whimsy around every timeworn corner. Austin’s work has been featured in publications including Zero Hour Climate Justice Zines and The Diamond Line Literary Magazine.
