Hiba Tahir is a first-generation immigrant, novelist, poet, and podcast host based in Fayetteville, Arkansas. She holds an MFA in poetry from the University of Arkansas as well as BAs in English and news editorial journalism from the University of Southern Mississippi. Her journalism background and adolescence in Mississippi greatly inform her creative writing, which seeks to scrutinize and interrogate the status quo in an attempt to disrupt and improve it. She is the recipient of numerous awards, including a 2020 student artist grant from Artists 360 and a 2021 Individual Artist Fellowship from the Arkansas Arts Council.
