John Dyas is one of a small number of US potters developing zinc crystalline glazes on decorative porcelain. After receiving a BFA in ceramics, John started his pottery career during the 1970s crafts and pottery heyday. His work has been shown in galleries in the Midwest and Southwest and he has taught numerous workshops on the technique. His early work on the potter’s wheel led him into a 35-year career in missions and ministry; however, he returned to his pottery and crystalline roots with more life experience, vision, and a passion for the possibilities new technology brings in today’s ceramics.
